What should I do if the factory has to stop production due to shortage of raw materials?
In this case, as the employer cannot fulfill its employment obligations, the employee has to stay at home, if instructed by the employer. In such cases, which are still in the competence of the employer, the employee is entitled to his/her basic salary. It is important to emphasize that cases like these are not considered force majeure. Employees in downtime are also obliged to be available for work in ready-to-work condition.
