How should an employee with suspected infection be handled? Should they be isolated or sent home?
Based on the general procedures (koronavirus.gov.hu), the first step is to call the primary physician of the employee and follow their instructions. Until the arrival of the paramedics, the employee should be isolated. Following the employee’s departure, the office should be disinfected and ventilated. Disinfectant detergent should be used for cleaning the furniture and the floor.
What to do if an employee suspects he/she is infected:
If the employee or his/her contacts were travelling in heavily infected areas (Northern Italy, for example), or if the employee was in contact with an infected person and displays symptoms of fever, fatigue and/or, dry cough, the following measures should be taken:

What to do if an employee suspects he/she is infected:
If the employee or his/her contacts were travelling in heavily infected areas (Northern Italy, for example), or if the employee was in contact with an infected person and displays symptoms of fever, fatigue and/or, dry cough, the following measures should be taken:
- The patient should not visit the doctor’s office in person, but should call the doctor on the phone!
- The doctor will interview the patient over the phone.
- If the doctor suspects a potential coronavirus infection, they will call an ambulance and the ambulance will take the employee to the hospital.
- All necessary checkups and laboratory examinations will be carried out to confirm whether or not the patient is infected with coronavirus.
- If the lab results confirm infection with coronavirus, the patient will be hospitalized (quarantine). The treatment will depend on how severe the symptoms are.
